            MINUTES of SPECIAL SESSION

Held August 30, 2016

 

Prior to the special session a public hearing was held in regards to the 2016 Real, Tangible and Vehicle Property Tax Rates. The time of the hearing was 4:45 p.m. in city council chambers.

 

The Russellville City Council held a special called session of city council on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., in City Hall. Mayor Mark Stratton presided over the meeting with council members Jimmy Davenport, Pat Bell, Sandra Kinser, Jack Whipple, and Darlene Gooch all present with Larry Wilcutt absent.

 

On the agenda under new business was first reading of Ordinance 2016-03, assessing and levying the 2016 annual property tax on real and tangible personal property sponsored by council member Jack Whipple. The City Clerk/Treasurer read the ordinance in its entirety because it was a revenue raising ordinance. The rates proposed in the ordinance were $0.255 per $100.00 assessment on real property and $0.329 per $100.00 assessment on tangible personal property.

 

Next on the agenda under new business was first reading of Ordinance 2016-04, assessing and levying the 2016 property tax on motor vehicles having a situs in the city of Russellville sponsored by council member Jack Whipple. The City Clerk/Treasurer read the ordinance in its entirety because it was a revenue raising ordinance. The ordinance calls for a tax rate of $0.22 on every $100.00 assessment of the vehicles having a situs in the city of Russellville.

 

Being no further business on the agenda of the special called session the mayor asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. 

 

Kinser moved, seconded by Bell, to adjourn the meeting; the motion passed unanimously.
