BOWLING GREEN, KY - April 24, 2020 - The Barren River Area Development District has launched a data dashboard to aggregate COVID-19 case information within the 10-county region. Utilizing existing information from the official Commonwealth COVID-19 Dashboard, found at kycovid.19.ky.gov, the regional dashboard aims to share local COVID-19 case information, including number of confirmed cases and numerous county-level data points, with the citizens of the Barren River Region in an easy-to-use format. Eric Sexton, BRADD’s Executive Director, stated, "BRADD is exited to offer this personalized dashboard of our 10 county region as designed by our talented GIS staff in our Community & Economic Development division. This dashboard will provide functional use, pulling down the state reported numbers and layering them with other demographic information related to the pandemic.” The BRADD COVID-19 Dashboard can be found online at www.bradd.org or on mobile at: https://tinyurl.com/bradd-covid19-mobile. The Kentucky Department of Public Health (KDPH) provides daily data updates to the Commonwealth Office of Technology - Division of Geographic Information Systems (COT-DGI), who in turn, publish web-based GIS mapping services for public use. This information forms the underlying structure of the BRADD’s Regional Database. Currently, the information driving the regional dashboard’s statistics is updated daily. BRADD is currently monitoring numerous COVID-19 data sources, and adding new data points to the dashboard as they become available.
