The City of Russellville Water Department will be starting Spring water main flushing on Monday, April 15th. The Water Department expects the flushing to last through June. The City of Russellville flushes the distribution system biannually, in the Spring and Fall of the year. We coordinate our flushing with the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission (LTRWC) in an effort to insure proper turnover.  The system has developed a flushing schedule which maximizes the benefits of flushing by establishing the order of flush points away from the source of water.  The operators flush the lines in accordance with the 2.5 ft./second criteria in an effort to scour the lines. This may cause pressure changes and air pockets in the water system. We appreciate our customer’s patience and understanding.
